Mission Codename Heaven's Gate
At today’s low price, this wine is expected to go fast…
Random Ridge produces some of our most popular wines. We have a close relationship with winemaker (and poet!), Bill Hawley, who we call Agent Hombre.
Today, Hombre’s hooked us up with his 2014 “Olas” Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon. This white blend is an exciting, delicious budget-minded blend that we love!
Intriguing on the nose with yeasty bread loaf, gooseberry, dried orange rind, Asian pear, soft white spice, wet river rock, quince and lemon leaf.
Very flavorful on the palate, with flavors of Meyer lemon, grilled lemon peel, young fig, dried apricot, river rock, very subtle dried herbs and very subtle grilled artichoke heart, followed by soft white spice.
We missed out on the 2013 vintage of this wine, but we’re the first to have the 2014, which is a great solo-sipper and a brilliant wine to enjoy with a wide range of foods. Be sure to enjoy it at a wide range of temperatures as well. Fresh out of the chiller, the wine is as fresh as a spring breeze. As it warms, it reveals added depth and complexity on the nose and on the palate.
