Today’s Random Ridge 2014 “Fortunata” Sangiovese is a special treat that will likely sell out, so reserve yours soon.

Today’s wine is a slight departure from Bill’s Cabernet and Cabernet blend wines. This is a foodie wine, made in a style to be enjoyed with everything from Italian fare or juicy cuts of beef, to saucy BBQ chicken or ribs.

This wine is at once old world earthy and new world fruity, this wine shows off a beautifully balanced nose of black cherry, cherry bark, smoky cherry, spice box, cedar, dried orange peel, dried cranberry and a hint of black pepper.

Bright and balanced on the palate with black cherry juice, cranberry, wild strawberry, cedar wood, cranberry, young cherry, wild strawberry, spice box, subtle tobacco leaf, dried orange peel, mineral and a subtle hint of white pepper.
