Heaven Scent

Welcome to another Super Spy Sunday, where each week we showcase a fantastic wine at a super deep discount.

This week, we’re proud to welcome back Doce Robles. Their wines are always popular, but it is their Cab that our Operatives love the best - and we’ve got their newest one, a fruit-driven gem that we know you’ll love.

Ripe Paso fruit jumps from the glass, with Bing cherry, young blackberry, black currant, raspberry, strawberry, exotic spice, cherry candy, hard leather, spice box and a hint of black pepper.

Juicy and fresh on the palate, with flavors of Bing cherry juice, wild strawberry, spice box, raspberry, bramble, red currant, cranberry, leather, slate mineral and toasty oak.

The small-production Doce Robles Winery is the very first winery to have appeared on the now winery-heavy Highway 46. Doce Roles’ neighbors include the likes of Peachy Canyon, Sextant and Castoro Cellars… to name just a few.

Doce Robles planted their vineyards in 1996, to Barbera, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Primitivo, Petite Sirah and Malbec were also planted in 2010 and 2012.

Very highly recommended.

Tasting Profile

Look:

Rich garnet hues with the slightest opacity at the heart of the wine.

Smell:

Bing cherry, young blackberry, black currant, raspberry, strawberry, exotic spice, cherry candy, hard leather, spice box and a hint of black pepper.

Taste:

Bing cherry juice, wild strawberry, spice box, raspberry, bramble, red currant, cranberry, leather, slate mineral and toasty oak.

Finish:

Long and supple, with bright red fruits out in front. As the fruits fade, a softly chewy dryness spreads slowly to the far corners of the palate.

Pairing:

Enjoy this bright Cab with a plate of tangy grilled chicken or a pile of saucy ribs.
