Mission Codename The 95er
Today’s very special 95 point wine, the exquisite Miner Family Winery 2013 Stagecoach Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon will sell out.
Please be sure to reserve yours soon, as this in-demand wine will not last the day. The winery gave us a special allocation but, unfortunately, there isn’t enough for all of our Operatives…

Here’s what our Agent Red has to say about Miner and today’s wine: “I recently spent the day hanging out with the winemaking team at Miner, touring their production facility, lurking in their cave and enjoying getting to know their wines and their people. I have always loved their wines, but I came away with a renewed appreciation. The care that they take in making their wines is apparent at first sip of today’s incredible wine.”
“If you are a fan of big, rich, bold Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is sure to check all the boxes for you. Miner is a special winery, and the Stagecoach Vineyard - which I also paid a visit to - is a sacred site in the Napa Valley. This very remote vineyard sits at between 1250 and 1750 feet of elevation. It is Napa’s largest south-facing mountain vineyard and its rocky soils produce some of the finest wines in the valley.”

This wine is incredibly aromatic, with black plum, grilled fig, blackberry, black cherry, black licorice, softly smoky blueberry, rich tobacco, mixed dark spice, smoked meat, baker’s chocolate, cassis and pepper.
Bold and weighty on the palate, with dark flavors of black cherry, black licorice, dusty bramble, spice box, cigar box, tobacco leaf, grilled plum, spice box, cocoa nib, espresso bean and pepper.
Enjoy a bottle now, but lay the rest down for a few years. This powerful wine will mellow and become an elegant delight.
This wine is selling quite briskly and there isn’t a whole lot left, so please be sure to reserve yours soon. This 95 point treat will not last the day!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
95 points - James Suckling - “Aromas of blackberries, walnuts and light wet earth follow through to a full to medium body, light chocolate and a long finish. Refined and polished. Classic style. Better in 2019.”
~
90 points - Connoisseur’s Guide To California Wine - “If never in the least bit lacking for ripeness and substance, this sturdy, well-structured wine is anchored by solid blackcurrant fruit and shows no inclination to softness. It is a Cabernet that demands patient aging, it has balance and fruity depth to grow past its very ample, presently puckery tannins that will work to ward off drinking for another six to eight years.”
