We fell in love at first sniff. When we tasted the wine, it was all over for us… we grabbed up every case that we could get our hands on.
Deeply fragrant, with a rush of fruit, spice, and earth, all in perfect balance, with black cherry, blackberry jam, smoky cherry bark, spice box, leather, licorice, cassis, red currant, cranberry and cigar box.
Wonderfully balanced on the palate as well, with smoky black cherry, blackberry juice, spice box, pencil shavings, black licorice, red currant, cassis, sweet tobacco leaf, mixed spice and a hint of cracked pepper.
At 35% off, today’s wine is a steal, and is offered to you with our fullest recommendation.
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
90 points - James Laube, Wine Spectator - “Much to admire in this rich, savory, layered and well-fruited effort, featuring bold dark berry, anise, mocha and jazzy oak, full-framed, deep and persistent. Drink now.”
California Grapevine, July 2016 - “Highly recommended. Medium-dark purplish ruby; black cherry and blackberry fruit aroma with hints of vanilla, graphite, and tobacco leaf; full body; red and black fruit flavors with some initial richness in the mouthfeel, hints of dried herbs and dark chocolate, and a bit drying on the finish; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Deserves a few more years of aging.”
Connoisseur’s Guide to California Wine, August, 2016 - “Here is a straightforward, fairly ripe Cabernet with black cherry leanings that succeeds more by virtue of its frontal richness than by any far-reaching complexity. It is full and slightly plush in feel with nominal underlying tannins for grip, and…it has enough youthful energy to ensure three or four years of positive growth and is in no danger of fading any time soon.”
Perfect ruby red hues, from glinting gem-like edge, through to the slightly darker translucent core. pencil-thin legs move very slowly down the glass wall after swirling the wine.

Plush and long, with integrated medium tannins. As initial flavors fade, a lush earthiness takes over, adding a grippy, slowly drying feel across the entire palate.
Pair this ripe wine with a spiced blueberry glazed pork tenderloin, or your favorite grilled steak.
