Mission Codename Maximum Happiness
Special Notice: The previous vintage of this wine sold out very quickly, leaving many of our Operatives out in the cold.
Don’t fret. This time around we got our hands on a sizable allocation of today’s incredible Miro Cellars 2014 Allegria Vineyard Old Vine Russian River Valley Zinfandel.
Stock up on this 91 point beauty!
Alegria means Happiness, And that’s just how we felt when we cracked a bottle of today’s very special wine. This reserve tier wine from our friend, Miro Tcholakov, is a very special wine. This old vine Zin is a fruit-driven beauty that is balanced by earth and spice, making this wine very well-rounded.
Rich and lively on the nose, with aromas of fresh black cherry juice, caramel, plum, cassis, milk chocolate, hard leather, spice box, toasty oak and cracked pepper.
Classic old vine Zin character, with flavors of juicy black cherry juice, blackberry jam, red currant, toasty oak, baker’s chocolate, leather, spice box, plum skin and cracked pepper.
This wine is very food-friendly and we can’t help but recommend it with the Zin-loving classics like grilled beef, burgers, spaghetti with meat sauce, a pile of saucy ribs or even a thick pulled pork sandwich with Louisiana BBQ sauce.
We adore Miro’s wine and we’re proud to offer up today’s as a shining example of just how skilled this great winemaker is.
Cheers!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
91 points - Wine Spectator - “Supple and polished, with blueberry and pie spice aromas and rich flavors of blackberry cobbler and pepper.”
~
Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast - “Made with 20% Alicante Bouschet, this old-vine wine is perfumed in spearmint and dill, nicely balanced in its approach, allowing juicy blackberry and cherry to speak. A soft texture makes it pleasant on the palate, dotted in comforting waves of leather and coffee.”
