Mission Briefing
The Moore you know...
It isn’t often that we showcase a 95 point Pinot Noir, but I was lucky in securing today’s E16 Wine Co. 2012 Bowland Ranch Vineyard Bennett Valley Pinot Noir for our deserving Operatives. This wine was made by Daniel Moore, who was the founding winemaker at both Martinelli Winery and Lynmar Estate.
Today’s wine is a 95 point stunner that we’re offering at nearly 50% off. We scooped up every last case that we could get our hands on and with that score - and that steal of a price - we don’t expect this wine to last the day.
With aromas like a classic cool climate Carneros Pinot, this wine exudes aromas of black cherry, slate, forest floor, dried wild mushroom, graphite, cedar, and a hint of gunpowder.
Rich and dark on the palate, with flavors of plum, ripe blackberry, black cherry, forest floor, pencil shavings, black cherry liquor, subtle spice and black currant.
Very highly recommended!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
95 points - California Wine Advisors, June 2015 - “The bouquet is panoply of spice, dark fruit and violets. Give this Pinot 20 minutes to decant and you’ll be rewarded with a delightful Pinot experience, boasting a striking mix of wild strawberry, creamy strawberry and plum, mixed with toasty graham cracker. This wine is full of big rich fruit that is both intense and polished. Simply gorgeous now, it will be no surprise if it continues to evolve over the next 7 years.”
