Mission Briefing

Codename:

Daniel... Craig?

We can’t get enough of the wines of Daniel Fitzgerald, who perfected his craft at legendary wineries, Williams Selyem and Robert Sinskey Vineyards. Today’s Daniel 2014 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is a lively, bright and delicious expression of Pinot Noir and the Pinot-perfect Alexander Valley.

This wine is fresh and lively, with aromas of Bing cherry, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate, soft spice, subtle anise, black tea leaf, forest floor and a hint of cedar.

Bright and fresh on the palate, with flavors of Hibiscus tea, Bing cherry, Alpine strawberry, red currant, young blackberry, cedar and cherry bark.

The Daniel label represents a close collaboration between winemaker and grower. Each small production Daniel wine is artfully crafted to capture the nuanced character of the carefully selected vineyard sites. The wines exhibit intricate attention to detail, which shows in every sniff, sip and gulp that you’ll be inspired to take.

Don’t miss out on this very highly recommended wine!

Tasting Profile

Look:

Pretty ruby red, with pink edges that catch the light.

Smell:

Bing cherry, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate, soft spice, subtle anise, black tea leaf, forest floor and a hint of cedar.

Taste:

Hibiscus tea, Bing cherry, Alpine strawberry, red currant, young blackberry, cedar and cherry bark.

Finish:

Bright fruits are sustained for a very long time before eventually succumbing to earth and soft spice notes. Tannins make the flavors take a turn towards softly dry as a plushness spreads across the entire palate.

Pairing:

We recommend this one with coffee and spice rubbed pork chops, grilled in a cast iron pan. Add stonefruit of cherry, peach and nectarine at the very and and grill until they begin to turn soft. Guaranteed delicious!
