Welcome to another in a long string of our special Super Spy Sunday offerings! Each Sunday, we showcase an exceptional wine - at an impossible to resist price.
Today’s Bennet Valley Cellars 2012 Sonoma County PInot Noir is a juicy, ready to drink delight that we know you’ll fall in love with!
Fresh and alive on the nose, with bright aromas of Bing cherry, raspberry and strawberry, backed up by cherry smoke, cedar, allspice, vanilla, oak and soft mixed spice.
Darkly juicy on the palate at first, with blackberry, black cherry and wild strawberry out in front. These are followed by slate mineral, mixed spice, black licorice, dark chocolate and summer forest.
This wine drinks beautifully right now - and it has years left in it still!
Tasting Profile
Look: | Dark ruby red, perfect clarity, and a springy surface that settles quickly when swirled. |
---|---|
Smell: | Bing cherry, raspberry and strawberry, backed up by cherry smoke, cedar, allspice, vanilla, oak and soft mixed spice. |
Taste: | Blackberry, black cherry and wild strawberry out in front. These are followed by slate mineral, mixed spice, black licorice, dark chocolate and summer forest. |
Finish: | As our notes on the palate suggest, this wine has a dynamic finish. Fruits sit out in front for a very long time, before subtly being replaced by more earth, spice and mineral flavors. Very elegant, softly drying. |
Pairing: | Enjoy this one with your favorite grilled fish. How about a beer & pinot can chicken? Just pour out half the beer and refill it with this very delicious Pinot Noir! Let us know how it turns out! |
