Mission Codename Zinfully Delicious
Yes! We finally got our hands on a Los Chamazal Zinfandel… and from the prized 2010 vintage, to boot!
Today’s Dane Cellars 2010 Los Chamizal Vineyards Sonoma Valley Zinfandel is one juicy, aromatic, wine… from one of our very favorite vineyard sources for California and Sonoma County Zin.
Amongst Zinfandel producers and aficionados, Los Chamizal Vineyards is considered a special place on the vinous map. A terraced vineyard carved into the slopes of the mighty Mayacamas range in the southern Sonoma Valley, it delivers memorable Zinfandel character with instant charm, and long term aging potential. The fruit is hard to resist now, but there’s a level of complexity lurking within that’s noteworthy for Zinfandel.
This wine is super expressive on the nose, with Santa Rosa plum, blackberry, dusty bramble, sweet spice, toasted cedar, cassis, molasses, raisin and a hint of cocoa dust.
Wonderfully juicy on the palate, with flavors of blackberry, red plum, cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, spice box, cedar, toasty oak, bramble and subtle black pepper.
This mountain grown Zin has a special character to it. Enjoy with ribs or served with just about any red meat dish.
Enjoy!!
