2013 "Reale' Napa" Reserve Cabernet Franc

When we first tasted today’s Grand Napa Wine 2013 “Reale’ Napa” Reserve Cabernet Franc we were blown away.
Okay, you know that we’re Franc-crazy, but you should also know that we’re also super Franc-picky. Today’s wine is one of the best expressions of this varietal that we’ve tasted. Grand Napa wines are truly something special. They are also an incredible value, and we’re very grateful to have such a close relationship with this Operative-favorite winery.
Today’s wine is heady and full on the nose, with rich aromas of stewed cherry, blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, bramble bush, cherry candy, hard leather, subtle caramelized sugar, and mild sweet spice.
Complex and supple on the palate, with flavors of grilled fig, grilled plum, smoked blackberry candy, black cherry compote, bramble, black tea leaf, cherry bark, sweet spice, sweet tobacco and a hint of cracked pepper.
If you love food friendly reds, today’s Franc is about as affable as they come. This wine can pair with almost everything, from the obvious grilled red meats, to the more traditionally difficult grilled fish or chicken dishes.
Today’s wines is very very highly recommended!
Reminiscent of red plum and black raspberry juice, this wine shows off dense coloration, from the darker heart of the wine, out to the red edging.
Stewed cherry, blackberry, Santa Rosa plum, bramble bush, cherry candy, hard leather, subtle caramelized sugar, sweet tobacco leaf, and mild sweet spice.
Grilled fig, grilled plum, smoked blackberry candy, black cherry compote, bramble, black tea leaf, cherry bark, sweet spice, sweet tobacco, and a hint of cracked pepper.
Round and soft on entry, then tannins ramp up - especially on the center palate, where a chewy dryness spreads rapidly outward. Darker flavors stay attached to the edges of the palate, while sweet, mild spice activates on the gums and lips. Very dynamic, very pleasurable.
Enjoy this wine with, well… almost anything! Cabernet Franc is the easiest wine to pair with food. With this particular Franc, we’ll be enjoying this wine with a cracked pepper and garlic rubbed New York strip steak! We can’t wait!
