To Boldly BoGO!
Today, when you buy one bottle of Bugay Vineyards 2008 Mayacamas Mountains Sonoma County Zinfandel, we’ll give you one bottle for just 7 cents!
This perfectly aged wine has a ton of fruit and is drinking beautifully. Drink now, or hold for the next few years. This wine still has years of life left in it.
Lush and fragrant, with aromas of cherry chocolate, blueberry preserve, blackberry, black cherry compote, spice box, briar patch, black licorice and black pepper.
This wine starts with a big mouthful of chocolate covered cherries, followed by baking spice, black cherry, blackberry reduction, bramble, leather, cassis, spiced cherry tobacco leaf and cracked pepper.
Today’s wine was born of the Bugay Estate vineyard, high up on the steep southern slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains. Do you know who else produces Zinfandel in the Mayacamas? Bugay’s neighbor, Storybook Vineyards!
This wine was made by Randall Watkins, who we’ve come to greatly respect. All of his wines are well loved by us here at Wine Spies HQ and, of course, by our Operatives. The last time we sat down with Randall, here is what he said about his winemaking philosophy:
“I am committed to crafting limited production wines from the concentrated fruit of hillside vineyards. I believe that vineyard location, soil composition, climate and slope are key factors in creating wines of extraordinary quality and distinction. My goal is to produce wines of great balance with regard to ripe fruit, quality tannin, and natural acidity. All of my winemaking efforts go toward producing wines that are rich and intensely flavored, reflecting both their origin in the vineyard, and the balance and elegance of small lot winemaking.”
His work for Bugay Vineyards is, in our opinion, works of art.
Very Highly Recommended. Don’t wait, reserve yours now.
