Ahhhhhhh. Take one sniff and that’s all you’ll be able to say. Sweet jolly rancher watermelon candy up front, followed by, Bing cherry juice, white raspberry, lime flower, subtle dried orange peel, Juicy Fruit and subtle flinty mineral.

On the palate, this wine is less sweet than the nose would have you believing. Flavors of Bing cherry, young strawberry, white raspberry, dried orange peel, watermelon, subtle lemongrass and a hint of soft spice at the end.

Agiorgitiko (Greek: Αγιωργίτικο; also known as Aghiorghitiko, Mavro Nemeas and St. George) is a Greek red wine grape variety that is generally the most widely planted red grape variety in Greece, ahead of rival grape, Xynomavro. The grape is mostly grown in the Nemea region of the Peloponnese but is also found throughout the country.

Agiorgitiko of the more commercially important indigenous Greek varieties. It can exhibit a wide range of characteristics from soft to very tannic, depending on factors in the growing and winemaking processes. Wines from this grape are typically made as single varietal, though it is quite often blended with Cabernet Sauvignon - particularly in the area around Metsovo to make the table wine traditionally called katoi.

In the region of Nemea the Agiorgitiko grape it is often made into rosé, as with today’s wine. The red wine produced from the Agiorgitiko grape is usually softly spicy with notes of plum. Agiorgitiko is generally planted in dry, infertile soil to encourage the production of fewer but more concentrated grapes, ripening after mid-September.

Today’s freshly delicious wine is very low-sulfite, which guarantees virtually no allergic reactions for those that are particularly susceptible.
