Here’s what the wine press has to say:
95 points - Robert Whitley, whitleyonwine.com - ”Firmly structured, the 2012 Barolo from Luca Bosio is classic in character, with mouth-puckering tannins walling off the excellent dry cherry fruit that is rather shy at this stage. Notes of leather and spice add complexity. This wine needs another eight to ten years to realize its potential, so be sure to decant and expose to the air for an hour or more if you serve it sooner.”
Platinum award winner at the 2017 Critics Challenge International Wine & Spirits Competition.
Gemlike garnet red, with perfect clarity with pretty red edging.
Spiced cherry, young blackberry, dried rose petals, spice box, subtle bacon, raisin and subtle pepper.
Tart cherry, smoked blueberry, dried violet, dark spice, leather, bramble and pipe tobacco.
Medium length, with medium tannins. Fruits fade to reveal drying leather, bramble and tobacco.
Enjoy this with your favorite Italian cuisine. We’ll be enjoying ours with a big plate of meat ravioli with a marinara made from heirloom tomatoes.
