Mission Codename Superstructure
Looking for one of the best Merlots you’ve tasted? Well, today’s St. Supery 2013 Rutherford Estate Napa Valley Merlot might just be that wine!
With a nose to die for, a super elegant mouthfeel, and flavor for days, this Merlot is one of the most exciting Merlots we’ve featured in a long time.
Oh, what a marvelous nose on this boisterous Merlot! Abundant aromas of blueberry preserve, blackberry, bramble, cassis, sweet tobacco leaf, baker’s chocolate, toasty oak, vanilla, spice and a very subtle hint of savory pine tar.
Flavors rush onto the palate, coating it with flavors of blackberry reductions, black licorice, blueberry preserve, dark mocha, grilled plum, spice box, dusty bramble, vanilla and black pepper.
The grapes for this delicious wine comes from vineyards in Rutherford. This region is, of course, the most famous of the AVA’s in Napa Valley for Cabernet Sauvignon.
Located at the center of Napa Valley, its soils are of volcanic ancestry combined with sediment from the San Francisco bay’s ancient original boundary and are primarily gravel, loam, and sand. This, combined with exceptional winemaking and a nearly ideal climate, results in vineyards of the highest quality and esteem.
Reserve yours now before someone else beats you to it.
