Mission Codename Rising Above
We know, it’s been a while since Charles Heintz Vineyards last graced our pages, but we promise that it was worth the wait!
Today’s Charles Heintz Vineyards 2014 Searby Vineyard Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is one wickedly good wine… at a devilishly great price. Our tasting panel got very excited about this one!
On the nose, this wine is so beautifully bright and fresh. Aromas of Granny Smith apple, bosc pear, orange blossom, pineapple, butterscotch, lime leaf, and lemongrass.
On the palate, this wine is fresh and balanced, with flavors of Meyer lemon, green apple, Asian pear, mixed citrus, grilled lemon slice, river rock mineral, and a hint of white spice.
So, what about the Searby Vineyard? Well, planted in 1972, Searby is one of the Russian River Valley’s greatest hillside vineyards. This nearly 20-acre spot neighbors Dutton, Chenoweth, Weeks and Ivywood, themselves some of the top producers in the Green Valley AVA region.
Who makes wines from Searby grapes? Some of the best Chardonnay producers around, including Kosta Browne, Nickel & Nickel, Migration and Truchard. Those wines cost upwards of $75, making today’s special offer a real steal.
