Mission Codename High Above
Our Operatives love the wines of Anderson’s Conn Valley. Those that have been read in know that this prolific winery has a boutique sister label, Eagles Trace, whose wines are small production and highly prized.
Today’s 2015 Napa Valley Pinot Noir is one fine wine and we absolutely guarantee that you’ll love it!
On the nose, this wine is shy at first. Then, with a little swirling, it springs to life with tones of Bing cherry, cranberry, raspberry, cola, spice, briar patch, subtle spice and dried red rose petals.
The palate is balanced and delicious, with flavors of raspberry, cranberry, briar, kola nut, black cherry, dark chocolate and mild to medium spice.
Eagle’s Trace was founded by Gus & Phyllis Anderson, of Anderson’s Conn Valley fame. When Gus retired from Conn Valley at age 72, he started up Eagle’s Trace with his wife, his son Art, and Art’s wife. The new winery allowed the family team to experiment and make bold choices, in the vineyard and in the winery. The result is a line of wines that are incredibly expressive and oh, so very delectable.
We absolutely adore this dark, flavor-packed Pinot Noir - and we guarantee that you will, too!
