When in Athens...
We don’t often show wines of this price, but when we do, be assured that the wine represents great value and a good drinking experience.
Today’s Eminent Archon 2012 Lodi Zinfandel comes to us as a Top Secret secondary label from our friends at [REDACTED] Winery. We could tell you who made this wine but, well, you know…
Supper ‘zinny’, with aromas of Bing cherry, blackberry, black cherry, sweet spice, dusty bramble, red plum and black pepper.
Bold and juicy on the palate, with an initial rush of black cherry, raspberry, black plum and blackberry reduction. These are followed by spice box, black pepper, dusty cocoa and cherry bark.
If you’re looking for a great weeknight wine that won’t break the bank, this might just be the one to keep on hand. Don’t expect incredible complexity, but be prepared for a really great value.
Decant for optimal results. A bit of decanting or some hearty swirling in the glass goes a very long way toward making this wine a delightful and easy drinking treat.
Enjoy!
