Today’s wine is very highly recommended!
Today we celebrate our decade-long relationship with Peterson Winery, with the release of their flagship single vineyard wine, their incredible 2010 Bradford Mtn. Vineyard Syrah. This delicious wine explodes with flavor and has the sort of plush, chewy feel that we’ve come to love about Peterson’s Syrah.
Ka-Boom! An explosion of aromas rushes out of the glass to greet the nose. Blackberry preserve, plum, black cherry, black currant and grilled fig, meld with dark spice box, dried fall leaves, twigs, baker’s chocolate, black licorice, slate mineral and black pepper. Mmmmm-mmmmmmm juicy! Flavors spill onto the palate, driving dark flavors of blackberry, plum preserve, grilled black cherry, spice box, leather, espresso bean, baker’ chocolate, clay earth, dried herbs and black pepper.
Grower Fred Peterson has been growing grapes and making Peterson wines in California for the last quarter century. Fred’s son, Jamie, literally grew up in the winery, shadowing his father and learning the craft from a very young age. Fred, who now focuses on growing, has handed the winemaking over to Jamie who, for the last several vintages, has been crafting one remarkable and delicious Peterson wine after another.
Here’s an exclusive video which features Emily Peterson, recorded for our Operatives at her family’s winery:
Inky and dark, with a dark maroon heart. At the rim, glinting garnet encircles the wine.

Super long, with plush, crushed velvet tannins that take a few sips to really build up on the palate. With each fresh sip, flavors rush in, then tannins seem to increase by the layer. This sensation is repeated again and again, with each sip, but the tannins never become obnoxious or heavy-handed.
Dark, grilled or smoked meats are the perfect accompaniment for this dark and powerful wine.
