Mission Codename First Dibs
We cannot declare heartily enough just how stupendous and excellent today’s wine is. All of us here at HQ will be buying any cases that are left over after our Operatives get their first dibs!
We are beyond thrilled today, dear Operatives! We have a super special wine from our old friends at Bernardus Winery in the picturesque Carmel Valley. Today only, we are thrilled to have their perfectly aged, filled with fruit, uber delicious 2011 Marinus Vineyard Carmel Valley Red Wine. This wine is a must have.
We can’t stop inhaling the dark, fruit-driven aromas of this very special wine. Aromas lead with Blackberry jam, black currant, black cherry, blueberry preserve, and fig. These are followed closely by, spice box, cigar leaf, violet, soft leather, and cracked pepper. This perfectly-aged wine has tons of upfront fruit for a 2011, with flavors of Jammy blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry, followed by soft spice, leather, grilled plum, softly toasted oak, baker’s chocolate, violet, and subtle toffee.
Today’s wine is perfectly aged and we think that it has plenty of life left in it. The Marinus blend is the winery’s flagship red wine. It is built to last - and built to enjoy with food. This is one elegant, flavorful wine. It drinks like silk and smells like heaven.
Enjoy!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
90 Points - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast - ”Black and white pepper, boysenberries and roasting pork notes show on the fresh and vibrant nose of this blend of the five red Bordeaux varietals. Light and lively on the palate, it offers lots of boysenberry energy, with more pepper, thyme, cardamom and tea elements. It’s a refreshing change of pace from a cool vintage.”
