Lighter red in color, as is common with Pinot Noir, with a striking jewel-like clarity. Nose of a cool climate Pinot with stonefruit such as plum and quince. Raspberry red fruit is there as well a mint note like you’d find in a mojito. Nice cinnamon spice and classic meatiness of Pinot Noir is found too. Blackberries on the palate overwhelm the red fruit notes. Sugared plum, dates, fig, rhubarb all are reminiscent of fruity holiday treats. The tannins are a bit chewy and the mouthfeel is very pronounced in the very center of the palate, towards the front, but not the tip of the tongue. It expands outward slowly towards the sides of the palate for the finish. As versatile a Pinot as ever, this wine would be enjoyed with the main course a holiday Christmas dinner, or simply as a highly enjoyable glass of wine to set the mood when guests arrive.
