Mission Briefing
Ty One On
Ty Caton is a pro and his wines show it. For this wine, the Sonoma Valley winemaker not only chose the best vineyard, but the best rows of grapes to make this incredible blend. For $26.99 we’re making it official - This is a Super QPR (Quality for Price Ratio) wine. We love Ty and we hope you do too!
This blend has a dark garnet center that expands outward to a screaming purple lip. It has a nose of a more mature wine than its years, with well developed aromas of rhubarb, brambles, currant, blackberry and holiday spices such as nutmeg and clove. The palate reveals a richly layered Bordeaux blend with dominant flavors of blackberry, preserved black cherry and stewed plum. The oak is extremely well integrated with an interesting cedar quality. This wine is all about structure, with a nuanced, layered body which is what Bordeaux blends are really all about. Expect powerful, yet smooth, tannins to drive an extremely long finish as it lingers on your palate until the next sip. This is a big-dog wine to be paired with the serious stuff: If you picked up a good looking cut of steak up from the store, this is the bottle to pop for the occasion.
