Couldn't drag me away
In 2016, the prior vintage of today’s wine won our Operative’s Choice Award for Top White Wine of the Year. For our 2017 Wine Intrigue Awards, today’s 2013 vintage has won! This brilliant Rombauer-slayer is one of the best whites we’ve ever tried in our 10 years. Your fellow Operatives think so, too.
We nabbed a nice allocation, but please be sure to reserve some soon. We don’t have enough for everyone. Check out this great review from the Winemaker himself:
We think that this 2013 vintage is even more compelling and intriguing than the 2012 vintage, which is really saying something. Our entire tasting panel adores this wine and we’re certain that you will, too.
This wine is mystical and magical on the nose (no kidding!), with aromas of lemon cake, freshly baked challah, white peach, toasted hazelnut, soft white spice and very subtle savory herb.
On the palate? What a delight! With flavors of green apple, brioche, lemon curd, white peach, nectarine, Meyer lemon, subtle butterscotch, fresh fennel, soft oak and very subtle spice and dried herbs.
Medium golden hues. Perfectly clear. Glinting like a yellow sapphire when swirled.

Medium long fruit finish, that slowly transforms to subtle spice and herbs as a very slowly spreading dryness finds its way to the far corners of the palate. In other words, the finish is long, softly dry and slowly dynamic.
Without a doubt, proscuitto-wrapped melons or clams with fresh pasta, Italian parsley and fresh garlic.
