Mission Codename Coombing The Vineyards
Operatives went crazy for the last vintage of Ackerman Family Vineyards we offered. We heard you and went back for more - This 2008 vintage packs the usual Coombsville wallop, We’re bringing it to our Operatives 56% off, which makes for a price that typically, you just can’t get for handcrafted small-lot Napa Cab.
Deep garnet red that is very dark at the center all the way to the lip. The wine has the distinct powerful nose that Napa Cabernet is known for, with star attractions of currant, vanilla and pepper. Here too are notes of mission fig, violets and dates. The palate is explosive with rich notes of plum, cherry, and currant with a walnut hint toward the finish. Other flavors of quince pie, creme de menthe and cassis are there as well. This wine is every bit the bombshell you’d expect it to be, with a lush, full body and powerful tannins. They drive a finish that goes on and on… With the money you saved on this wine, it’ll be worth springing for the corkage to bring this one to your favorite local steakhouse.
This one is an easy choice!
