Mission Codename Apparently.... YES!

Happy Super Spy Sunday, Operative! Today only, we have Grand Napa’s first Heir Apparent Napa Valley Red Blend. This Ultra QPR wine drinks way above its price class, offering you incredible value. Grand Napa has become a smash hit with our Operatives, and their Heir Apparent wines are especially popular.

This wine has a core of deep garnet with a thick band of stunning fuchsia at the edge. It boasts a very attractive and distinctive nose of horehound, cola, lemon verbena, and anise with a fruit profile closest to cherry and rhubarb. The flavor profile is more conventional with currants, black cherry, roasted vanilla bean, cola, fig, and tobacco. This wine is just beautifully balanced and caresses the palate with soft tannin that covers everywhere from the bottom gums to the roof of the mouth. Cries out for red meat with an herbal twist: Try beef Wellington well seasoned with oregano, thyme, and sage.

This masterful blend of 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 30% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc is a ready-to-drink beauty that will only get better with a bit of bottle aging. Enjoy now, and for the next 10 years or more. Be sure to have enough on hand to experience the progression that this lovely wine will undergo.

Enjoy!!

Here’s what the wine press has to say.

92 Points - Chris Sawyer, “Sommelier to the stars” - “With a beautiful dark red hue, the wine opens up with seductive aromas of fresh violets, dried rose petals, ripe tree fruits, wild berries, licorice and spice. On the palate, lively notes of fresh baked dark cherry pie, red plum and ripe raspberry are layered with zesty notes of pepper, cloves, ginger, roasted walnuts, and the gentle use of oak which allow the flavors to pop. As the wine opens up, these flavors are balanced with soft tannins, tangy acidity, and long finish that is a great compliment to a wide range of comfort foods and spicy cuisine.

Suggested Food Pairing: Rich cheeses with wild berries, stuffed mushrooms, gourmet sandwiches, wood-fired pizza, pomegranate chicken, slow-roasted pork ribs, and grilled steaks.”
