Today only, enjoy the dark, dense, and oh so elegant Homage Vineyard 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, at the lowest possible price, today only. This under the radar wine is serious Napa Cab, made by one of our very favorite winemakers, Rudy Zuidema. Wine Spectator and Robert Parker awarded the 2013 Napa Cab vintage 96 points and 98 points, respectively. Wine Enthusiast gave the vintage a 95 point score.

2013 Napa Cabernets are the absolute darlings of the wine world at the moment. So much so that they’re becoming more and more scarce. We’re doing all that we can to secure wines from this extraordinary vintage, and today’s wine is one of the best we’ve tried so far. Just be sure to purchase enough to keep plenty on hand for the next decade or longer.

This wine is very dense and dark that it’s quite nearly as black as the night sky, only a tiny ring of ruby is visible at the meniscus. You’ll find a rich and savory nose with notes of bramble, coriander, subtle walnut, potpourri with cherry, and cranberry for the fruit component. On the palate, the savory herb comes through as well with some black plum, boysenberry preserves, leather, and barrel spice. The wine concentrates its intensity in the center of the palate, mid-tongue, then languidly expands to the back of the palate for an exceptionally long finish. Fire up the grill and throw some green onion and flank steak on there and you’ll be set.

Husband and wife team Simon and Avia Hawksworth purchased a neglected Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in 2005 and, with love and care, returned the vineyard to its former glory. Today, their 5-acre vineyard produces fruit for Plumpjack and Vine Cliff and REDACTED Winery, whose Homage Vineyard wines all fetch top dollar.
