Mission Codename Oooh, that smell...
We’d like you to get to know the wines of Petrichor, so we’re giving you a stellar deal on this special treat. We’re so confident that you’ll love today’s wine that we’ll buy it back if you don’t!
The Los Angeles Times called today’s wine, “Stunning”. Master Sommelier Yoon Ha called this wine “…perhaps the most compelling new world Syrah”. We call today’s gem from Petrichor a distinctive, delectable delight. Steve Matthiasson was the viticulturist. The winemaker was Winemaker of the Year winner Duncan Arnot Meyers.
Check out the stunning view and some words on the winery from Margaret Bradley-Foley herself:
This Syrah blend has excellent color extraction, with a core of garnet that is much denser than is typical for the varietal, spreading out to a royal purple lip. Perhaps surprisingly, true to its name, a distinctive aroma of petrichor is immediately discernible. After the initial surprise of that revelation wears off, you’ll pick up on the plum compote, pleasant barnyard, diatomaceous earth, and slate minerality. The palate is far more conventional with black plum, currant, potpourri, kalamata olive and leather. As indicated by the color, this Syrah is a heavyweight with more powerful tannins capable of sustaining a much bigger wine drinking experience including a miles-long finish. This Syrah-Grenache blend is welcome with a more robust meal, such as thick-cut pork chops, seasoned with rosemary and well seared on the outside.
This wine is expected to be a hot-seller, so please don’t delay in reserving yours.
Cheers!

What the press has to say:
Master Sommelier Yoon Ha - “perhaps the most compelling new world Syrah of 2011.”
Los Angeles Times, S. Irene Virbila - “Stunning” “Margaret Foley, who owns the 2.5-acre organically farmed estate Petrichor Vineyards in Sonoma with her husband Jim, was pouring just two wines, their “Les Trois” from two vintages, both stunning ($48): the 2011 is a blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache, while the 2012 is 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache. Both are elegant and balanced, with a distilled minerality.
