There is something so satisfying about today’s 2017 Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Rosso Di Sera Red Blend from our friends at Martellotto Wines. Winemaker Greg Martellotto has crafted an Ultra QPR (Quality to Price Ratio) steal of a wine in this delicious, easy-drinking blend. Priced to move, and in short supply, so you’d better hurry - before your fellow Operatives beat you to the final bottles.

With its bright ruby hue and the shocking magenta lip at the edge, you know you’re in for a treat. The nose is a good portent of a well-rounded blend with balanced notes of blueberry, vanilla, subtle herbaceous quality, marzipan, and terracotta. As suspected, after taking your first sip, you’re treated to a complex melange of flavor including blackberry, blueberry, plum, allspice, pipe tobacco, fuji apple, and leather. Wonderfully smooth and perfectly-balanced, this blend covers all the bases, serving up soft tannin, clean acids and tons of fruit. The sky’s the limit - Try it with a classic pot roast with roast potatoes.

We’ve been showcasing Greg Martellotto’s wine for years now, and we’re always impressed. Today’s blend of 40% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc, was aged for 10 months in 20% new oak, and 80% neutral barrel. The result is a smooth, juicy delight that we guarantee that you’ll love.

At today’s price, this is one wine that you may want to stock up on. Be sure to keep plenty on hand for the Fall. Enjoy with a wide range of food pairings.

Here’s what the wine press has to say.

90 points - Jeb Dunnuck - “Already bottled, the 2017 Rosso di Sera is a plump, rounded, sexy wine that has loads of ripe cherries, blackberries, toasted spices, and earth. With medium to full-bodied richness and ample fruit, it’s a delicious, fun wine to drink over the coming 4-5 years. The blend is 40% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 25% Cabernet Franc, all aged 10 months in 20% new oak.”
