Mission Codename Propitious
From all of us here at Wine Spies HQ, we send you our well-wishes and fondest thank yous on this Thanksgiving Day. We’re grateful to have served you these last 12+ years and we look forward to bringing you the finest wines for years to come. Please accept today’s Roblar Napa Cabernet, which is one of the best we’ve tried of late.
Here’s a very nice garnet colored wine with beautiful ruby hues shimmering around the outer edge. You’ll find a very fragrant bouquet on this wine with pleasant caramel and vanilla notes with an interesting slate minerality. There’s also notes of plum compote and leather. The maraschino cherry and milk chocolate notes up front make for a tasty combination, especially with the fig, fruitcake, and pomegranate to back it up. Overall, the wine is very smooth with robust tannin with soft edges. The fruit gets a big lift toward the back making for a stellar finish. Perfect for a well-rounded family meal, such as pot roast, mashed potatoes, and gravy, with stuffing and the rest of the fixings.
Today’s wine was made by winemaker, Bryan Davison, whose work we have admired for years. Bryan has worked at some of our favorite wineries, including Martin Ray, Chateau St. Jean, and Michel-Schlumberger, in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley. Bryan’s style is opulent yet natural. Today’s wine reflects his decades of winemaking excellence.
Enjoy!
