Mission Codename Happy To Be Maroon'd
Maroon Wines consistently produces some of the best QPR (quality to price ratio) wines out there and today the 2013 Reserve Napa Valley Single Vineyard Howell Mountain Zinfandel is back at the best price ever.
Here we have a Zinfandel with a small core of garnet which transitions quickly to translucent ruby red and maintains that color to the very edge. It’s got a really fun and inviting nose of blueberry, allspice, pumpkin seed, vanilla yogurt, granola, honeysuckle, and jasmine. Zin can be dry and still have big fruit flavors that have a dessert-like quality. This entry from Maroon is like a berry parfait with blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, graham cracker, vanilla cream, and brown sugar. Yum! It’s just got a great medium body that holds your interest more than thinner Zinfandels while still offering the easy-drinking experience that California’s grape is known for. Believe it or not, this wine would be divine with the cheese course. It’ll pair with everything from a Manchego to a Roquefort.
We’re very lucky to have such a special relationship with Maroon. Enjoy the benefits and stock up on this beauty, which is ready to drink now and good for the next 10+ years.
The Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) is located in Napa County, California, United States. Napa Valley is considered one of the foremost wine regions in the world. Wine grapes thrive here, due to the combination of geography, the Mediterranean climate and geology of the region, which are perfect for wine grape growing. The region was established as a wine-growing region with its first commercial vineyard, which was planted in 1858.
