This dense, delicious Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the estate vineyard of Ron Siegemund. His “aCURE eSTATE” Vineyard is located in the hills at the western edge of the Alexander Valley. This vineyard enjoys extended sunny days and cool nights, ensuring proper ripening of Cabernet Sauvignon. The soil here is comprised of a sandy gravel loam, where vines tend to be very small. Wines from this special place have densely concentrated fruit and exceptional structure.

This Alexander Valley Cab has a dense garnet heart that is consistent all the way to the edge where there is a thin bright ruby red lip. Up front, you’ll find a surprising fresh berry nose of raspberry, strawberry, and boysenberry aromas with hints of candied violets and damp wood. The yummy fresh fruit is found on the palate too, with cherry, wild strawberry, dark plum, with fennel seed spice, and a bit of fruitcake towards the finish. This is just a beautiful wine and an exemplar of Sonoma Cabernet; Alexander Valley in particular. Ample, but silky soft, tannins create a very full mouthfeel that coats the entire palate and hangs out around the back of the tongue and the soft palate for a long finish. If you’re feeling inspired, try your hand at beef wellington with a side of truffle-infused mashed potatoes.
