Mission Codename A Namesake To Slake
The Terlato’s have built a wine empire that encompasses more than 70 wineries, but there’s only one that bears the family name. You’ll need to grab a few bottles of today’s Terlato Family Vineyards 2015 Russian River Valley Sonoma County Chardonnay to see why these legends chose this wine for their namesake winery.
Beautiful and golden in the glass, this Chard shines with crystalline clarity. The bouquet is complex, boasting aromas such as Asian pear, red apple, sur lees quality, quince, and Irish cream butter. The fruit is very fresh on the palate with loquat and apricot joining the apple and pear notes. There’s also subtle toasted coconut and marzipan as well. The cooling acidity is very bright and keeps the mouthfeel more lean and peppy on the midpalate, driving the fruit and keeping the focus there through the finish. Perfect for a complex seafood dish like saffron rice with soy-glazed cod.
The Russian River Valley AVA is the premier region for producing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in the United States. Year after year, wines made from grapes grown in the cooler climate, with fertile soils along the river are rated among the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list. See what all the fuss is about. We only were able to get our hands on a small allocation of today’s wine so do not delay!
