Celebrate the return of Clos du Bois with us, today, with the release of their juicy, rich and oh so elegant 2014 Sonoma County Sonoma Reserve Cabernet Franc. We have a small allocation of this hard to find wine, from the winery’s special reserve program. Cab Sauv fans will love this wine, Franc fans will do cartwheels!

Internally, this wine has a beautiful softly-hazy maroon hue that shines when held up to the light. The nose is very perfumed with an analogue of sandalwood, cigar box, potpourri, black currant, and bright boysenberry. Right away, after taking a sip, you’ll come away with Cab Franc’s signature dark berry and chocolate flavor profile, with cocoa, espresso, and dark mocha. There’s some nice leather and tobacco on there as well. This wine is excellently structured, with plenty of flavor and acidity nuance without being overbearing, right through to a long, tapered finish. This is a wonderful all-around wine that would be especially delicious with a nice heaping bowl of fettuccine with a Bolognese sauce with Parmesano Reggiano.

And then some. This delicious wine is more food-friendly than a traditional California Cabernet Sauvignon, with a flavor profile that is brighter and decidedly juicier.
