Mission Codename Picture Perfect
Today’s elegant and downright beautiful wine has earned some of the highest accolades available to a wine. How about Double Gold? Check! Best of Class? Uh, huh! How about scores from 92 to 95 Points? Oh, yeahhhh.
2013 was an incredible year for Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. Critics swooned over the vintage. Heck, Robert Parker awarded the vintage a decades-high 98 points. Today’s Cab is that rare treasure that’s becoming so hard to find these days. Especially one with as much downright class and pizzaz as todays.
Picture perfect in the glass, with a bright red core, purple at the edge, and legs that cling to the edges. Without being hyperbolic, we can say you’ll be stunned when you sample this wine’s bouquet. It has a distinctive and deeply pleasing aroma of fresh ground coffee beans. It also has cocoa powder, making the mocha note hard to miss. Followed up closely by cigar straight out of the humidor, and rich earth. Wow. If you’ve ever had a wine with a big, opulent nose that did not follow through on the palate, you know how disappointing it can be. And you also know how uplifting it is when it exceeds your calibrated expectations. It tastes exactly like it smells with creamy espresso, dark chocolate, nutty walnut, tobacco, and black soil. If you can’t tell, our panel of Agent tasters loved this wine. Unsurprisingly, the structure here is top notch. Supremely balanced, layered complexity and a long finish. What else could you want? You’re going to need some scallops with your filet mignon. That won’t be a problem with the money you just saved.
The Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) is located in Napa County, California, United States. Napa Valley is considered one of the foremost wine regions in the world. Wine grapes thrive here, due to the combination of geography, the Mediterranean climate and geology of the region, which are perfect for wine grape growing. The region was established as a wine-growing region with its first commercial vineyard, which was planted in 1858.
