Today’s wine beat out 49 other Syrah’s to be named Best of Class in the 2018 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition - which is the largest competition of North American wines. That’s quite an award!

And now you can experience this wine for yourself - but only if you’re quick. This wine will likely sell out before the day is over.

We have an incredible offer for you, today, dear Operative! Cornerstone allowed us special access to their most prized Syrah, their darkly delicious Cornerstone Cellars 2015 Mendocino Ram’s Horn Vineyard Syrah. This wine took our tasting panel by storm, causing some on the panel to vociferously declare their love for this dark, rich, bold treat.

At today’s price, we know that your fellow Operatives are going to grab this wine up by the case!

This wine might be mistaken for an English rock band from the 1970s because it is… deep purple. It’s got a wild nose, with Syrah’s signature white pepper accompanied by chevre, potting soil, eucalyptol, and tar. Wow! The palate is surprisingly approachable and easy however with lush notes of cracked pepper, plum compote, fresh and dried figs, rhubarb, and maraschino cherry. Its grippy tannins stack up nicely with its bold fruit flavor and it packs a punch that leaves you asking for more. Moroccan flavors of sweet and savory would be nicely complimentary such as a dish of saffron couscous with lamb, parsley, tomatoes, and golden raisins.

We don’t show many Mendocino wines, but when we do, they’re usually doozies! Today’s wine packs a lush and plumply fleshy wallop, with bold flavors and a sturdy backbone. This wine is everything that you would expect from our friends at Cornerstone.

Just don’t dally. At today’s price, this wine will not likely last the day.
