Mission Codename The Agent and the Crow
Croze has grown to become one of our most popular wineries. Our Operatives love their wines, which always deliver great value for the quality of wine that they are delivering. Today’s gemlike Croze 2017 Napa Valley Chardonnay is a bright, fresh mouthful of enticing flavors. Pair with seafood, crabcakes or your favorite springtime salads.
Glints like a jewel in the light, this Chardonnay has perfect clarity and a beautiful chartreuse hue. The nose is super clean and enticing with Meyer lemon, gardenia, sandalwood, lemon-lime, and jackfruit aromas. The palate is super crisp with a surprising keffir lime note. It expands with bartlett pear, kiwi, a bit of grass, and apple. This is a Chardonnay for SB lovers with its crisp and lively acidity, lean body and citrus notes. We loved it. Perfect for a salad topped with fresh dungeness crab with a bright lemon and butter dressing.
This wine hails from the Oak Knoll District of the broader Napa Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area). Oak Knoll is located within Napa Valley AVA at the southern end of the valley floor. The appellation’s close proximity to San Pablo Bay results in a climate that is cooler and more moderate than any region in Napa Valley - other than the Los Carneros AVA , where Chardonnay and Pinot Noir thrive.
The Oak Knoll District AVA has more area under vine than any other wholly contained appellation within the Napa Valley. The district is planted largely to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. Oak Knoll was officially designated an appellation within the Napa Valley AVA on April 26, 2004.
