California: Napa Valley: Oakville
Line of Succession
One of our absolute best deals this year just got better! Absolutely ideal for today’s Super Spy Sunday steal of a deal from our friends at Grand Napa. Remember, every Sunday, we bring you a high-end wine at a truly great price.
In the last 3 years, we’ve featured dozens of wines from our pals at Grand Napa Wine. Their Heir Apparent are special wines that hail from some of the Napa Valley’s most coveted vineyards. We’ve been sworn to secrecy, but we can assure you that if you knew the true origins of the wines, you’d double your order!
Today’s Grand Napa Wine 2016 “Heir Apparent” Oakville Napa Valley Red Wine Cellar Selection red blend is a nice ruby red that has excellent color consistency from edge to edge. There are pleasant aromas of strawberry and dates compounded with notes of caramel, toasted coconut, and honeysuckle. It’s got creaminess to it that comes through along with flavors of pomegranate, cranberry with some sun-dried tomato and garden herb. It carries a solid backbone of tannins that is like a concrete foundation that this formidable blend is built atop. If you’re looking for a wine to stack up to your entry in your local chili cook-off, you’ve found it!
Here’s what the wine press has to say:
92 points - Wine Advocate - “The 2016 Red Blend Heir Apparent has a deep garnet-black color and lifted nose of black and red cherries, cassis and earth with wafts of menthol and chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, it is plush, juicy and spicy in the mouth and offers good length.”
This offer is good until sold out, so please be sure to reserve yours. Soon as you can…
