Mission Codename That Air Up There
Today’s fantastic steal of a wine is offered to you with our very strongest recommendation!
Miro is some sort of winemaking magician. Newly released wines, particularly Cabernet Sauvignons, are notorious for being too young to drink at release. Miro’s wines are always ready to drink - upon release! Today’s 2016 Pine Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is a super-rich and very elegant wine with highly concentrated flavors.
At its darkest core, it’s solid garnet, while at the outer edge it shines with more translucent ruby hues. The perfect wine to showcase Alexander Valley: More red fruit than the other side of the hill with raspberry, ripe red plum, and maraschino cherry. Violets for the floral aromas and sandalwood for the spice. The flavor profile boasts dried roses, cardamom, subtle cinnamon, mocha, dark chocolate, and dusty bramble. Just beautifully constructed, the oh-so-silky tannin evenly coats the tongue and slides off all the sides evenly. Truly, the mouthfeel is really the highlight of this Cab. Worth the price of corkage at any restaurant. Bring this wine to your favorite one and order the special. You can’t go wrong.
The Alexander Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area) in northeast Sonoma County is located on the western side of the Mayacamas range and extends westward to the edge of the Russian River Valley. This appellation was formerly considered a part of Dry Creek Valley but became its own appellation in November 1984. The region is best known for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
