Mission Codename Rhapsody in Red
Singer Cellars 2013 The Rhapsody Red Blend is an absolutely stunning wine. Dare we say that it is nearly perfect? There, we said it!
The aromatics are pure heaven. Bold aromas leap from the glass, with black cherry, blackberry, tobacco leaf, vanilla bean, cocoa dust, dried fall leaves, molasses, black licorice, spice and a subtle hint of pine tar.
This wine is absolutely stunning and elegant on the palate too, bursting with bold flavors of blackberry compote, black cherry, dried tangerine rind, cigar box, dusty cocoa, vanilla, subtle oak and black pepper.
This elegant, balanced and delicious red blend recently earned a stellar 96 points from Chris Sawyer. That’s a score that we wholeheartedly agree with.
Reserve yours soon, as our allocation of this VERY highly recommended wine was somewhat limited. That’s what happens when a wine receives a really high score - it suddenly becomes scarce.
Cheers!

Here’s what the wine press has to say:
96 points - “Sommelier to the Stars” Christopher Sawyer - “From the stellar 2013 vintage, the latest offering of the signature Bordeaux-style blend from Singer Cellars features 68% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon.
From the minute the cork is popped, the wine seduces the senses with deep aromas of dark fruits, wild berries, forest floor, layers of spice, cedar, and a hint of black walnut.
In the glass, the wine profile expands with deep flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry, blueberry, vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom and clove; nice firm tannins; rich texture; and a long, rewarding finish. Robust, complex, and rewarding.
Food pairings: Stuffed Portabella mushrooms, gourmet sausage, roasted chicken, pork tenderloin, beef wellington, and barbequed meats.”
