To the collaboratively unified palate of our Tasting Panel, 2017 is THE BEST of this perennially popular bomb of a white. EXPLOSIVE quality as you would expect from the Antinori family, globetrotting artisans responsible for some of the greatest wines in the world. Entirely from the pampered high elevation Estate vineyards on Atlas Peak overlooking Napa Valley, with our secret deal here this superb Chardonnay is seriously underpriced. Take advantage, for today only!
Bright shimmering gold with silver streaks whirling in the core as the glass swirls. Intense stone fruits, crushed rocks, chamomile, and pineapple with sweet spices are some of the precursors within the inviting perfume. Once sipped, it morphs into a rich, creamy and gorgeously textured wine with robust acidity, and toasty oak nuance. On the finish, it gains depth and richness, while retaining its purity and vibrancy as it lingers long. Very long. Classically styled, this lovely Chardonnay needs a lavish seafood dish with balanced citrus and cream elements, such as linguine with scallops and a Meyer lemon beurre blanc.
Today, the Antinori legacy is overseen by Piero Antinori and his three daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia. Together, they lead one of the most prolific fine wine empires in Italy, and their innovations played a large part in the “Super-Tuscan” revolution of the 1970s. Antinori is a member of Primum Familiae Vini, an elite association limited to 12 family-owned wineries, and also the 10th oldest family-owned company amongst all businesses in the world!
