Mission Codename Answer the call
Is it possible to fit Sonoma County in its entirety into a bottle? Probably not we can hear you say. But this red is as close as one could come to showcasing what Sonoma County does best in one single blend. With a little, just a 10% help from our friends in Napa for friendly competition’s sake! The diversity of grape varieties that thrive here along with the microclimates that give them the sense of blending is immense. Yet this little wine, under $20, manages to accomplish the best possible representation of our big, beautiful region.
Alluring deep ruby and surprisingly opaque and dark with radiant shades of red within its appearance. Blackcurrants, black cherries, spice, and tobacco all emerge from this expansive blend’s nose. Sweet tannin, plenty of fruit, and juicy acidity all come together, softly and seamlessly. Wonderful length and texture on the finish, with spice and fresh berry accents all lingering in unison. We can’t think of a better red to accompany an all-local cheese and charcuterie platter.
This wine is all about synergy, where the parts add up to be greater than the sum. Just like it’s modest, overdelivering price, you can add up 12 parts in bottles to make a case and the sum shall be a mere $200 and change! Mind you, 707 is our area code here, so if you dial just that you may get this wine to ring in your palates! It’s Sonoma County on the line Operatives, with all its irresistible deliciousness. A little Dry Creek Valley here, a stop in Russian River Valley there, with a stroll in Alexander Valley to wrap it all up. Thanks to our long-term rapport, we can bring all of that to you at a staggering 50% discount. This little wine is playful to sip today yet built sturdy enough to last a decade in the cellar.
No press, no pretention, all yumminess. For times when simplicity is best, yet with enough oomph in reserve to impress even the most discerning of your wine-loving friends!
