A diamond-esque brilliance lights up like sparks with glimmering gold highlights. The nose is defined by captivating lemon, and white flowers, as just some of the nuances that take shape over time with swirling. Fresh and linear on the palate, with minerals, crushed rocks, grapefruit, and a striking precision that defines the mouthfeel, with attractive fatness adding body, and lovely depth but without excess weight. Poached halibut with a beurre blanc sauce, over a saffron and sweet corn risotto would be a plate made in heaven for this timeless Chardonnay flirting with perfection.

We can’t recall another $35 Napa Chardonnay this good, at least in recent memory, with a Platinum award AND 97 points from Decanter magazine, the most prestigious British wine publication. It’s as if Miljenko ‘Mike’ Grgich has continued to make that winning 1973 Montelena Chardonnay of his, uninterrupted, as the glorious young man he is today, in preparation of his 100th birthday just around the corner!
