Mission Codename Celebrate Good Times
Collectors and Napa Cabernet lovers - today we have yet ANOTHER insane coup! A cause for celebration indeed! We have been on a tear lately, bringing you exclusive wines from small producers that you NEVER see on store shelves, let alone at these wildly discounted prices - like this perfectly bottle aged 2013 Cabernet from one of the founding fathers of none other than…OPUS ONE. YES!
Mark Jessup has a blue chip winemaking background starting all the way back in 1979 at Robert Mondavi, then Inglenook, and then as one of four founders of the original OPUS ONE winemaking team. After that he pioneered the eponymous Jessup Cellars, before leaving in 2005 to pursue a smaller passion project - J Gregory Cellars.
The 2013 Celebration is a plush, downright sexy expression of 100% Cab sourced from the ten acre celebration vineyard in Coombsville. The 2013 vintage, as you probably know, absolutely rocked, and at seven years age this stuff is just entering peak drinking window, displaying super rich and concentrated fruit, ultra polished tannins, and an overall royal personality. Pop the cork and revel in the cassis, blackberry compote, shaved dark chocolate, sweet pipe tobacco and grilled herbs. Anyone who loves top shelf Napa Cab will totally fall in love with it. From the moment you pop the cork it rewards with generous fruit, and keeps giving as the minutes pass, getting deeper, richer and more refined.
The only downside…we barely got enough for an offer. So scoop what you can because it will not last!
