That’s right - This is the first ever Reserve Sonoma Valley Cabernet. Winemaker Robert Rex typically reserves that moniker for his vineyard designate Cabs. But this monster combines the best of vineyards in their line up, Ivy Glen and Amaro Vineyard and was so delicious it earned Deerfield’s top honors. A little bird told us that it spent a jaw-dropping 6 years in the barrels, making a wine so smooth that one sip will transform you into Barry White.

Deepest ruby imaginable, impenetrable to the light in its core, with a slither of a garnet halo. Despite the years, it’s still youthful and vibrant on the nose with incredibly lush blackberries, blueberries, violets. Huge, opulent, sweetly fruited on the palate too, in an irresistible style with a lead pencil minerality emerging. A sensational finale that has sweet, present tannins, no hard edges, and great, great muscle. Clearly a joy to drink now yet will keep for another decade or two, or enjoy with a rare steak.
