Mission Codename Biblical
You dig the fine and the rare, with huge scores? Looking for an affordable collectible? Look no further!
It will last for a long, long time if cellared properly, or ready for instant gratification and pure, unadulterated hedonism.
This is a true rarity, one of the harder to find of all Châteauneuf-du-Pape specialty cuvées. We located a small stash, not enough for a day’s run, so don’t hesitate if still see a few bottles remaining…
96 Points - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“Owned by the Chouvet family since 1989, these wines are consistently very good to outstanding. An impressive follow-up to the 2015 version, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape David et Goliath is full-bodied, creamy and plush, showing remarkable richness, length and purity, without excessive ripeness or weight. Cherry and peach fruit picks up hints of dried spices, thyme and bay leaf on the long finish. It’s almost all old-vine Grenache, sourced from the rolled stones of the Les Saummades lieu-dit and aged in demi-muids. Drink 2018-2030.”
