Mission Codename Burnin' love

Say it with us – we want MORE-ga-do!

You’ve been asking for more from Kimberly Hatcher, who honed her style under Parker darling Russell “bigger-than-life” Bevan, and we listened…

A 94 Parker pointer Pinot powerhouse for a mere 25 a pop?!

A library release Pinot Noir at its peak of joyful hedonism. Put your guard down and prepare to get your socks knocked off… If you dig that Aubert / Marcassin / Peter Michael pedal to the metal style - which is to say, Pinot Noir with afterburners, here’s your 55% OFF ticket. If you’re a fan of lighter, shyer Pinots though be warned, as this behemoth sure won’t fit that bill.

Remember that the Bevan school of winemaking holds NADA back. Just like the Cabs and blends under this bareback-riding, skinny-dipping regimen, it’s a flamethrower of intense fruit, mellowed just the right amount with bottle age. Think raspberry liqueur oozing out of a cocoa powder coated truffle. Definitely up there with the best of “the essence” of Pinot, combining that berry basket with dried and jammy elements and a savory side that dazzles and puzzles, as it pleases the psyche.

No, no and no. You can NOT say NO to this Pi-NOT. Go Morgado all day. Stash up before it disappeears!

94 Points – Robert Parker

“These are all small production wines, made by Russell Bevan’s assistant winemaker, Kimberly Hatcher, and are bottled without fining or filtration. The wines are stunning and the prices are realistic for what is in the bottle. These debut offerings from Morgado Cellars should be given considerable attention by readers. The 2012 Pinot Noir was fashioned from the Calera clone. Its deep, dark ruby hue is followed by notes of black fruits, earth and forest, beautiful opulence, decent acidity and ripe tannin. This is a lush, heady, hedonistically and intellectually satisfying, full-bodied Pinot Noir to drink over the next 7-8 years. Drink 2015-2023.”
