Mission Codename Forget Chanel
Luminus SOLD OUT…
But we’ve got a Double Agent UP - bubbles by the Caymus clan!
Forget Chanel, if Marilyn Monroe was alive, this is the only Number 5 she’d rock.
Jenny Wagner of the fantastic Wagner Family of Wines (Caymus, Conundrum, Mer Soleil, Red Schoner…) took over the label from her mother Cheryl Emmolo in 2014 and has been slaying ever since. This is their fifth version of their California sparkling and at this price point, it crushes many Champagnes costing 2-3x more! SERIOUS, mouthwatering stuff.
She went on record for a newspaper interview; “Dad has always inspired us to keep trying new things, it’s always been an ongoing adventure, and this is my opportunity with Emmolo to create something new and exciting.”
New and exciting? Make that exhilarating! It rocks Jenny, kudos!
This non-vintage bubbly was bred in the “Méthode Traditionelle” - which means it’s made the same way they do it in Champagne. With 40 months of aging before disgorgement, it has superb complexity, luxurious creaminess, and super fine, focused bubbles. The blend is 65% Chardonnay and 35% Pinot Noir and it’s a little toasty, a lot zesty, and totally crowd-pleasing. It pops with ruby red grapefruit, crisp green apple, fresh pear, Nilla wafers, lemon pith, and a gentle mineral-like savory salinity. Stash a few for Thanksgiving, Thursday Night Football, or ____ (fill in the blank) - there’s never a bad time for top-shelf bubbles!
Especially at the price. Not $100. Or $50. Under $30 makes us weep with joy. Best price anywhere!
We literally have a few cases to share. Get some while you can!
91 Points – Natalie MacLean
“Produced by the Wagner Family of Wines, a traditional method bubble produced from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes. Bright and dry with a lively, vibrant mousse of ripe apricot, pear, mandarin zest, baked pastry flavours with a mineral vein that runs throughout this delish sparkler. Chill and enjoy with turkey dinner.”
