Mission Codename Sweet guilt
HOT OFF THE PRESS!
Cab enthusiasts, and in particular anyone who loves the bigger, fruit-bomb, lush, and flashy kind… meet your new guilty pleasure.
Introducing an ALL-NEW CAYMUS release. And not the usual one you’re thinking of…
This is a fresh creation, a newly conceived wine from the Wagners.
The SAME family behind this $269 Cult Cab.
Meet their “California” Cabernet. It might not have the “Napa Valley” designation but it’s just as serious and endowed as the rest of their lineup. And best of all, you don’t need to fork over a crisp Benjamin to get some. You can get that unmistakably giving signature Caymus quality for under $50 today – that also happens to be the best price on this you’ll find anywhere – basically where no Caymus Cab has been since like 1988!
This is only the second vintage made! And rumor has it this is quickly taking over as their most popular Cabernet in the lineup. In fact, we tasted this last year at an industry event at the winery, and it was a unanimous favorite among our own group.
Sourced from a variety of sites across California where Cabernet thrives - from Lake County down to Paso Robles and in between. Looking beyond Napa Valley means fruit prices are lower, and that translates straight to the bottom line.
Compared to the “classic” Caymus, this has a slightly more restrained and dialed-back feel. Slightly. Maybe? It does of course hit you with that bellringer of fruit-forward goodness and has a telltale Caymus signature stamped on it.
It comes loaded with a core of sweet ripe raspberry steeped with vanilla up front, blackberry, cassis, and a touch of toasty marshmallow, and oak with some creamy tobacco loitering out back. Incredibly smooth and seamless on the palate and surprisingly light on its feet for so much concentration. It’s like a big fuzzy blanket kind of wine for when you need that sort of smothering warm comfort.
The bottom line, you need to get your fingers tickling that checkout button FAST to lock some in. We begged for more and secured maybe enough to satiate the masses. Get it while you can!
