Mission Codename Arachard
A single-vineyard opportunity line no other. Our precognition heightened… with something different here. As it comes into focus – there’s a final drop by Hook & Ladder, at a price you simply CANNOT find elsewhere! That’s it! And as always, we’ll pass the savings to you. At the cost of roughly 2.5 Starbies PSL Grandes you get a bottle of this, thanks to 55% OFF, bringing it down to a much friendlier $21.
If you’ve been around wine, you probably recognize the DeLoach name. Cecil de Loach and his wife Christine sold their eponymously named winery years ago. But they couldn’t shake that winemaking itch, so they started a label named after the fire station where Cecil was stationed in San Francisco. With a strong foothold in the Russian River Valley, they continue to make quality wines at a killer value.
You can always count on Russian River Valley Chardonnay to deliver the goods. While this has plenty of power, it leans more on the bright, citrus side of the spectrum. It packs hard lemon candy, croissant crumbs, lime pith, ginger, and honey-spiced pears into every mouthwatering sip. A slight oak influence and a trace of malolactic give it some weight and extra depth but it stays pretty firmly planted on the brighter, Chablis-esque side of things with great acidity and lift.
Side note - in case you’re wondering, Spider Web Ranch Vineyard gets its name exactly how you imagine. A huge spider web was found at the end of the vineyard one day, and so it became named. Meanwhile, the orb-weaver spiders are EVERYWHERE around my house this time of year. I practically walk through one or two webs each day in a complete panic. They’re supposedly nice guys, but no way do I want one of them crawling on me.
And that’s nowhere near as creepy as a $21 Chardonnay that drinks like it costs A LOT MORE!
