Mission Codename Baby super tuscan
There are some things that just blow us away!…But, in the under $40 SRP bracket??? We turn away far more than we get to scream YES, YES, YES too! And YES, YES, YES we shall!
This $22 Baby Super Tuscan made with Sangiovese & Syrah is the over achiever we wish more wineries would set their bar’s too A flavorful bottle ride filled with cherries, crushed blackberry up front, with ripe plum underneath, tasty, tasty, tasty deliciousness.
Although, with 23 generations of winemaking, we feel you better be great at what you do! Seriously the famous Bindi Sergardi family, you probably know them from their flagship Chianti Classico wines; ..and check this out, the grapes for this wine come from the Tenuta Marcianella estate, where the Etruscans were growing wine before the Romans ever showed up. (600 BC, peeps.)
We tasted this wine when we had some operatives in town earlier this summer and lucky for you and us…they too were blown away by the sheer over achiever quality of this wine. When we shared with them the price we would sell it at, they too understood! In-fact, it made it challenging to evaluate the other Tuscan reds, because this one was so darn tasty, even more so at this $22 price! But the label??? We just thought it was another pretty flower on a label.
Did you notice the rose 🌹 on the label? It’s not just a pretty design. For centuries, the Catholic Church would bless one rose a year, tied to one specific Sunday in Lent. Most years, nobody even got it. It just sat there, blessed and unclaimed. (oh, so sad). But, on the rare occasion the Pope did give it away, it went to whoever he wanted to honor in a very deliberate, very personal way. Kings. Cities. Institutions. Think ‘Time’s Person of the Year’ or ‘The Oscars,’ except rarer, and with a Pope handing it to you personally…pretty special!
And this wine is special indeed..Essspeciallly…yummy! Bring on the Pizza! Roasted Chicken…really anything wine! Bring on Friend’s Night!! This wine is medium bodied, filled with black cherry, cedar, pepper, crushed blackberries, a nice dry finish with a subtle savory edge.. Great little wine!
Just $22 seals every fall night is a Super Tuscan night locker!
